Saturday, December 3rd, Davidson High School along with six (6) other Jubilee BEST schools competed in the South’s BEST Regional Robotics Championship hosted by Auburn University. Over 4,000 students and supporters were in attendance in the Auburn Arena.

Fifty (50) teams from 13 competition sites in seven (7) states rivaled in five categories over two days to achieve the highest award – the BEST Award. Categories included the robot competition, engineering notebook, marketing presentation, exhibit booth and interviews, and spirit and sportsmanship.

BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) has become the premier robotics educational program for the state of Alabama. In attendance over the two day competition were industry leaders from across the state, State School Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice, and representatives from Alabama’s Office of Workforce Development. The seven participating schools that represented Jubilee BEST were: (Mobile County) Davidson High School, St. Paul’s Episcopal School, North Mobile Middle School, St. Vincent de Paul, Mobile Area Coalition of Homeschoolers MACH Robotics, (Monroe County ) Monroeville Jr. High, (Marengo County) Sweet Water High School.
